Constant controls using standardized light ensure the quality of the printing.
The printing process
Flexo and offset lithographic printing are the most widely used methods of printing on paperboard and corrugated board. Gravure printing is used in the cigarette industry for large runs. Silk screening and digital printing are generally used in smaller runs.
Flexo printing
Flexo printing is a letterpress process and mainly uses water-based color. Paper and paperboard can be printed from the roll or you can print directly on sheets of corrugated board (F-, E-, B-, FE-, EE-, EB- flute).
Offset printing
During offset printing, a rubber blanket is used for the color transmission of fat-based color. Using this technique, you can print on paper, paperboard 175-750g/m² and corrugated board (esp. G-Flute, but also on F and E).
Silk screening
Here, a fine sieve is used as a template for the color transmission. Various thickness can be achieved using this technique and is used in very specific areas that require a high quality finishing.
Digital printing
The use of ink-jet technology allows the low-cost production of small runs and prototypes.
The appropriate printing processes will be chosen according to cost and capacity aspects. A constant and reproducible quality has to be ensured in opting for the CI concept, company colors and color guidelines.
